Quickstart
Your first diagram in five minutes. Start from a template, ask the assistant for a change, edit it by hand and share it.
This walks you through one diagram from start to finish. You need to be signed in. If you haven't signed in yet, see Sign in for the first time.
1. Start from a template
- In the rail on the left, select Templates.
- Select Purchase request.
The app creates a new diagram from the template and opens it. If you have no diagrams yet, the app has already opened a copy of this template for you.
You see the process twice: as Flowmark text on the left and as a Diagram beside it. Both show the same process, and a change in one shows up in the other.
2. Ask the assistant for a change
- Press โ I (Ctrl I on Windows and Linux), or select Assistant at the right end of the diagram's header.
- Type a request, for example: "Tell the employee when the order is placed."
- Press Enter to send.
The assistant changes the diagram and shows a change card with what it added or changed. Select Undo on the card to take the change back.
The assistant needs an API key, unless your admin has set up shared keys. If it asks for one, select Add key, or see Set it up.
3. Edit it by hand
On the diagram:
- Select a step, such as Create purchase order.
- Open Add after this in the tools next to it, and pick Task.
- Type a name, such as "Check budget", and press Enter.
The new step goes in after the one you selected, and the app redraws the layout. To rename a step, double-click it.
You can also type in the Flowmark pane. Change a step's name there, and the diagram follows when you pause typing. See Flowmark.
4. Check for problems
The status bar at the bottom counts the problems in your diagram. Select it, or press โ J (Ctrl J), to open the Problems panel. Select a problem to select the step it's about. See Modeling checks.
5. Share it
- Select Share at the top right of the diagram.
- Select Create link, then Copy link.
Anyone with the link can view the diagram without an account. To download it instead, open Export and pick a format. See Share and export.
Every change saves on its own, so there's no save button.
